Owen and Claire return to Isla Nublar to save to the dinosaur race from an erupting volcano.
As a huge fan of the series, I was pretty disappointed after
watching this. The action and the dinosaurs are the only things that save the film
entirely. We return to two characters that are not developed correctly. Owen talks
the raptors and makes sarcastic comments while Claire is very serious and
stands her ground. That’s it! In Jurassic Park, there are tons of moments where
audiences learn about Alan, Ellie, and Ian to actually care for them. All the
characters here are shown to be killed off or try to be brave in a comedic way.
Last time talking about character issues, there’s a guy named Franklin in the
film and he is the worst “comedic relief character” ever. He’s scared of
anything or everything so much that it gets insufferable every time he’s
onscreen. The story sounds good but there’s a twist that takes a weird turn
right in the middle. I feel like the writers couldn’t think of a new idea so
they copied and pasted everything from the first Jurassic World to this. The ridiculous
weaponize dinosaurs subplot is back! Does anyone in their right mind know how
dangerous that would be? Dinosaurs don’t know good from bad. They just eat
whatever comes in their path. That subplot is the most unrealistic idea to
bring up at all. If you’re a huge fan of the series, go see it with low expiations
or just to see some dinos. For others, this is a solid rental. Verdict: 6.4.
